A great choice for a beginner or for a traditional quilter who wants to go modern. Introductory section is filled with useful information without being "preachy." But the book's REAL excellence lies in the sections on block/quilt construction. The instructions are crystal clear, and illustrations reinforce that clarity. Even for experienced quilters, the section on finishing/binding is excellent. I look forward to exploring the techniques/blocks, and recommend the book to all quilters. Too many "new" quilt books are just a rehash, but this one is different!!!
