No matter how many times I tie flies using vibrant colors I am always drawn back to more natural looking patterns. The General Imitater is a pattern that can be used in many different way. In lakes it can be used to imitate damselfly nymphs. In rivers, it is a good representation of larger aquatic nymphs. It is tied on a size 8 curved nymph hook. The tail is made from rabbit fibers and the body is from a hares ear mask. The legs are partridge feathers which really bring realism to this fly. I have used this to catch many different species; just add creativity to your retrieve.
