This listing is for a knife forged from an old rail road spike. The blade is a skinner, and the cutting edge measures about 2 1/2 inches. The handle was given a beautiful twist for grip and features a leather wrist lanyard. After forging, this knife was heat treated and tempered, then sharpened to a good working edge. This knife does not come with a sheath.
This knife has a skinner type blade, but it suitable for use as a hunting knife and general bushcraft knife. It is tough enough to split wood and the pommel (which was left largely untouched as the head of the spike) can be used as a hammering and pounding implement.
