Adobe real bird nest Nature find Classroom teaching aid Wildlife display Photo prop Wedding Baby shower Wreath centerpiece Missouri country GL3
This nest is made from grass & weeds with a piece of string and plastic with mud bottom.
Nest pictures #1 is from the incoming birds point of view, #2 is the bottom, #3 #4 & #5 are taken from the sides.
This nest is about 4" tall on the tallest side and the inside of the nest is approximately 1 1/2" deep and 3 1/2" across the opening and 5 1/2" across the top. These measurements do not include the stray parts that are going off the main nest.
It is in great condition and will be packaged to arrive to you in that condition.
The bird didn't use a blueprint and nothing is exact!
The nests are just as they were found, I do not spray them so there will be some loose material and some dirt. If you want the nest sprayed (free) with clear shellac please let me know when you make the purchase and be prepared to wait a few days for it to dry before shipping.
The birds do NOT reuse the nests but build fresh each year. They blow out of trees during a storm and there is no bird capable of putting them back in the tree.
This would be a good teaching tool and would look great on a wreath or centerpiece or any earthy display and also for a photo prop. Bird nests are considered good luck in some cultures.
They are interesting as there are so many sizes, shapes, as well as building materials used.
****I went to the Conversation Department and asked if it was okay to sell the nests and the Agent told me it was as long as there were no feathers or pieces of egg shell in them. They are abandoned after a seasons use and then are considered by them to be just sticks and other building materials.
