These 2 Butterick patterns are from the early 1950s or possibly the late 1940s. Each one features a cute, classic dress style, and each one is described below; Please note: Both patterns have 2 or 3 missing pattern pieces and the envelopes are quite torn.
Butterick pattern #7283 features a "Quick and Easy Teen-Age Dress" with a scooped neckline and capped sleeves. The skirt flares at either side. The size is a vintage size 14 (bust 34 inches, waist 26 inches, hips 35) inches. The instruction sheet is yellowed from age and slightly torn. The envelope is torn down the left side, plus two corners on the right side. Please note: The two bodice pattern pieces and the belt pattern are missing.
Butterick #8589 features a "spectator" dress with stand-away collar and welt pockets. It can be made sleeveless or with short sleeves. The vintage size is 14 (bust 34 inches, wasit 26 inches, hips 36 inches) which would be about size 8 in today's sizes. Please note: Two pattern pieces for the bodice are missing; most pattern pieces are uncut, but some are wrinkled. The envelops is torn on the left side and there are about 3 other tears.
