We currently have a flock of just over 40 sheep. Our sheep are friendly, and we are committed to keeping them healthy. We carefully keep track of the fleeces so that yarn can be tagged with a picture of the sheep who grew it. The majority of our fiber is from our own animals, the exceptions being fiber with alpaca and angora for added warmth and softness.
A share in our Fiber CSA [Community Supported Agriculture] is for spinners, weavers, felters, knitters, crocheters, fiber artists and animal lovers, and others who want to support local agriculture at our diversified farm in Maine. You'll receive a member certificate and your choice of yarn, roving or felting fiber and supplies from our farm store according to current retail value. The quantity of fiber depends on the type of fiber (wool, alpaca, or angora blend) and the degree of processing required. We will send you a picture, samples or better yet, you may make arrangements to meet our sheep in the pastures in person.
You also receive information so you can ~ Learn about the amazing animals that grow your fiber. ~ Appreciate the peaceful, creative and positive atmosphere at the farm. ~ Know about farm events/fiber classes and Maine fairs where we take our fiber products. ~ Learn and share skills: knitting, dyeing, weaving, needle felting and wet felting.
We have a limited number of shares to be certain that we have enough of our own fiber to supply all our members. Your CSA membership support is particularly helpful with fiber processing costs.

Loved this CSA! Marty was great to work with. She went above and beyond to offer me custom color of my wool as well as making sure I selected the type of fiber that was right for me. I have an abundant supply of enough lovely yarn for a gorgeous project. Will definitly do this one again!!
