Cowl Pattern PDF: Byzantine Gold. Hand Knitted Lace Cowl. Original Design. PDF downloadable pattern.
This is a digital file
*****This is a pattern on how to knit a cowl and not an actual cowl.*****
Byzantine Gold is lacy and airy cowl, knitted in a simple rhombus motif. It is knitted flat and the edges are later joined by Kitchener stitch. This is fast and easy project. The cowl can be worn in the full width or folded in half lengthwise, which makes it reversible.
The sample cowl knitted after blocking measures 65cm (26 inches) long and 47cm (18 inches) wide. You can easily make your cowl bigger or smaller by changing the number of repeats.
The gauge in the one lace pattern repeat after blocking measures 38 sts x 64 rows in 21.5 cm x 27 cm. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the cowl of your choice.
The sample cowl was knitted with 2 skeins or 660 yards (604 m) of Platinum by Baah! (Fingering / 4 ply 75% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 5% Metallic), 330 yards (302 m)/ 100 grams. Colorway: Byzantine Gold.
US 5-3.75 mm needles
