Skill level - Easy - Intermediate
To work these patterns you need to know how to work in a spiral, in rows, sl st, sc, increase and decrease, hdc, dc. The pattern calls for a back post single crochet and a long single crochet as well but do not worry as I give instructions how to work them with helpful pictures illustrating the process.
The pattern comes with a 20-page detailed written instructions and 60 step-by-step pictures to make the project as easy to follow as possible.
I provide information on supplies, abbreviation keys, stitch count.
The size of the toys depends on the yarn and the hook you use. The toy is 10 cm tall using the materials mentioned below. What you will need for sure: • any Fingering/4ply cotton yarn (I state colors in each pattern). I used «Begonia» by Yarnart (50g/169m, 100% cotton). «Panama» by Katia or «Catania Fine» by Schachenmayr smc will work too. • small amount of thin yarn for the eyes and the nose and small amount of embroidery thread – the yarn should be approximately two times thinner than the main yarn • matching crochet hooks – I used 2.25 mm for the main parts and 1.5 mm for the eyes and the nose • stuffing • sewing pins • tapestry needle • transparent glue (optional) to glue the eyes and the nose. If you prefer to sew them onto the face, you can do without glue at all.
What else you may need: If you want your toy to stand on its own, you will need the following materials: • crochet hook 2.5 mm • any material to add weight – I used small beads. • a piece of thick cardboard or plastic to make the insoles – I use plastic lids.
