Grey wool offcuts for crafting: feltmaking/felting, cardmaking, corsages, tassles, fascinators, wristbands, applique...
Eight small pieces of grey offcuts from my handweaving, from4 inches long.
Combining colours is my favourite part of handweaving: I suspect you could make something great out of these!
There are other offcuts listings in my 'Sale and miscellany' shop section. If you buy all of them at once, I'll give you 20% of the price back. If you buy five or more lots at once, I'll give you 10% back. Go ahead and purchase as listed and then I'll give the percentage back to your card/payment method via Etsy's refund mechanism.
I have estimated amounts. I will refund any excess paid.
Please note that the woven wool cloth in the background is for display only, and due to be made into a garment for sale separately. (The broad bean costs extra.)
Because I live in a van with my loom, touring the Celtic lands, please bear with me if your parcel is posted from an outer isle, Brittany or Ireland and is at all slow to arrive - I'll let you know. (My blog, 'Tales from the road', at www.theseisles.co will give you an idea of where I am currently.)
More weavings are constantly added. I make bespoke commisions, so do write to me with your ideas and I'll respond as to whether/how I can fulfil them and advise on custom request prices (which are likely to be approximately 50% higher than stock prices).
My loom and weaving process are illustrated in pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1566402350302825.1073741835.1493299277613133&type=3

Shipping & policies
Shipping figures include packaging costs. Second items in the same consignment are posted free of charge - you pay for shipping of the larger item only.
All items will be posted fully insured against loss or damage so that we are both protected.
I endeavour to despatch items within five working days of receiving your payment, and almost always achieve this and better with stock items. Since I live on the road and seek out the wilder places, please forgive any delay - I will usually be able to contact you to let you know if this is likely to be the case. Please let me know if you have a special occasion deadline or similar and I will do my best. (If in doubt please enquire before purchase.)
I accept payments via Direct Checkout (credit/debit card, Paypal, bank transfer and Etsy Gift Cards). Please contact me if another method would sit you better.
I am happy to consider payment in instalments ('layaway') but have to add approximately 5% to the total weaving value in order to cover additional fees charged by Etsy and Paypal for each transaction.
If you would like something made especially for you, I work to commission, designing weavings in consultation with you. This provides me with constant technical and artistic challenge, as well as new inspiration! I work in batches for efficiency, designing variations around your specifications. I normally have a waiting list of at least a month. Please allow for custom order requests to cost around 50% more than equivalent stock items. Costlier yarns, complicated colour combinations or designs, larger dimensions and/or denser weaves will all increase the price due to higher materials costs, lengthier consultation time, experimentation challenges and increased labour intensiveness.
The order process is as follows:
1. Online (or occasionally by phone or face to face), you place a custom request in which you describe your chosen design's ideal colour(s), texture, weight, dimensions and character, sending photos and highlighting which aspects you like most in my existing items. You specify your ceiling budget.
2. I make a design proposal (which may involve more discussion with you), giving a guide price and outlining timescale.
3. You pay a 25% non-refundable deposit (if the item's final price is less than four times this amount and you reject it, I will refund the difference, but not the full deposit).
4. I make what we've agreed, in a batch of related but non-identical items (which means you may have a second choice).
5. I list the weaving(s) for sale and send you the link for you to purchase.
For both layaway and commissions I require a non-refundable 25% deposit upfront, and punctual payments thereafter to an agreed schedule. The full amount plus shipping costs are to be paid before despatch.
Returns & exchanges
I am a small business and this is my livelihood. I appreciate prudence, courtesy and generous-spirited transactions, and you can expect the same. If you wish to return an item, I would much rather exchange, or make a replacement to order, than reimburse.
However, EU customers have the right to return an item for any reason within fourteen days of receipt and receive a full refund for the original purchase price and outward shipping paid. You will be liable for return shipping costs.
Non-EU customers will be responsible for all shipping costs incurred.
If the item is not as described, I will refund the full amount including shipping both ways, for all customers.
WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR
I take great care and time with both my customers and my craft.
My weavings are never perfect. With the more organic-looking designs, I allow irregularities to remain where they complement the whole. With smarter, patterned or more homogenous items, I make more corrections to any missed picks that are not in keeping with the overall look.
Handweaving is an extremely time-consuming and labour-intensive process (even without this additional step).
As I establish my business my prices - which have to cover labour, materials, customer service, workshop, marketing, advertising, listing, computing, banking and professional development costs - will increase gradually over time so that I can achieve at least the local minimum wage for myself.
'These Isles' is yet young and changing as it grows: my craft, procedures and policies are refined and improved all the time. Your suggestions are welcome.
