This posting is for one blank rustic reclaimed barnwood (weathered barn wood) plank board lumber. The dimension is approximately 11 inches by 18 inches by 3/4 inches. Two edges are raw as found and two edges are cut. The lumber is being provided as found, except that we have added two cleats with wire nails to stabilize the piece. The cleats are also made of barnwood.
You are buying the specific piece of wood in the photos.
We hosed off the boards last summer and kept the wood inside during the winter. Later, we brushed remaining dust that came off easily, but, depending on your application, you may wish to perform some kind of washing process when you receive this. This is a great size for signs, backgrounds for photographs or menu boards.
We leave our boards blank so that you can use them as you would like. You can paint them, stencil them, use Sharpie on them, carve them, wood burn them, bedazzle them, thumb tack paper to them (maybe with clever thumb tacks) or decoupage them. These would be a great size to hold a paper menu or schedule of events. Or, maybe take baby photos of the bride and groom for an interesting display at a rustic wedding.
The sign is made from reclaimed barn wood that we found at a farm auction in Kansas. It's cool to think that these boards once protected cows, horses and hogs, and now will adorn a rustic woodland or farmhouse wedding. You are buying the specific piece of wood shown. There are remnants of nail holes or knots in some pieces, but that is part of the charm as are the cracks and rough edges. Note that this is actual wood from a barn--not common pallet wood. It looks to us like southern yellow pine, but we can't be sure. Due to the wide width of this size, we screwed in two cleats to stabilize the board for shipping and use, but you can remove them if that better suits your purpose.
We will combine shipping if you purchase multiple items from us.
OTHER VARIATIONS We have these blanks available in various sizes, so be sure to look at our other listings. Some of them have finished edges, unlike the rough edges on this piece. We can also make special sizes, although the wider requests may require us to glue multiple boards into one.
