Item details

Underground, rare, obscure tools. We are talking...out of this country, buried for decades, kinda tools. The ones that you want to bring to life in your designs to create fresh looks. You will have to snatch up those tools ASAP because who knows if you'll see them again. And no one makes them in America. They come from the hidden gem shops in India.

Since some of these are quite old they may have rust and or defects. All items are sold as is.

This particular item may come in different shaped dies (exterior shape) but will have the same imprint.

I am willing to ship to other countries send me a message and we will figure out the shipping cost. Thanks for looking!

How to use Bronze Dies
Hammer Method: For annealed sheet silver/copper: Cut your sheet larger than the die you are using. Lay your sheet on the die and place lead on top and hammer the lead down into the die. Your Silver/copper sheet will go down into the die and begin to pick up the imprint of the die. You may have to anneal your silver/copper a couple times, realign the pattern and repeat the process. When you have a good imprint you cut away the extra silver/copper along the sides. If your silver copper becomes stuck in the die carefully slip a bench knife (putty knife) between the sheet of metal and the die and then twist the putty knife. The sheet will slip right out of the die.

Arbor Press Method: For annealed sheet silver/copper: Put your die on an anvil or some flat firm sturdy surface. Place your ANNEALED copper or silver onto the die. U want a pusher that is pliable and in somewhat small pieces so they will go into the small crevices (like lead, small pieces of leather, or even wet fabric) that will be bigger than the cavity u r making an impression of. Press with an arbor press (hammer the plunger at the top). When it feels like the copper/silver is not going down into the die then stop, remove the pusher and anneal the metal u r forming. Then place your metal back in the die, being careful to line up the design with the die. Add a heap of lead on top of that so it will go down in more and press again. When u get the general shape then u will want to concentrate on details. To do this anneal your copper/silver the copper/silver in the die, place some small pieces of lead on top...then take maybe take a dapping punch (or wood dowel or metal rounded stamp or something that will reach into the die) a small piece of lead on the annealed copper/silver and use your punch or dowel and hammer that piece of lead down in the die more. When it appears the lead pusher is flattened add more lead. If the copper/silver does not appear to be taking an impression anymore remove the lead and die and anneal the copper again. Keep working at it u will get it. Don't use urethane as a will flow to to path of least resistance...this means out the sides and away from the inside of the die.
Hydraulic Press: be warned...These dies are not made to be used with a hydraulic press. They can crack or break. If u choose to use these in a press please be cautious of the pressure used. Follow the instructions for the arbor press.

Bronze dies work GREAT with Precious Metal clay!
