Hand Carved, Lightly Coffee Dyed, Bone, Woodland, Boho, Faerie, Magical, Pond, Tree, Frog Pendant Sitting On A Group Of Water Lily Leaves $36.00

A single stylized frog sits atop a cluster of water lily leaves. It is 47mm long by 27mm wide and 4mm at the thickest. It is a light and comfortable 4.6 grams.
There is a 2mm hole at the top from front to back for stringing. The frog faces upward with a slight curve to the left in the classic, squat pose. There are two grooves on it's back and grooves in the tops of the feet. Simple eyes are visible and a line to indicate the opening to the mouth.
There is an abundance of lines carved into the leaves for veins with some areas between the leaves and the frog cut right though highlighting the negative space.
I have lightly dyed the bone with coffee to accent the details of the carving giving it a warm, creamy color. The back is smooth, plain, and curves gently inward. The finish has a satiny sheen without being too reflective. I have added some information about the symbolism of frogs in various cultures. You will find it at the bottom of the listing.

Thank you for visiting my shop. I continue to list more from my gallery collection of over 20 years (www.hammerededge.com). Here is a shortcut back to my Etsy shop if you would like to see more.

PS. If you need a gauge to measure items. I sell them. Here is the link below.

When the frog appears in your life it may indicate that it is time to find opportunities in transition. The frog symbolizes transition in its unique growth cycle. The frog undergoes amazing transformations to reach full adulthood, as do we as humans.
In many cultures the main symbolic meaning of frogs is fertility. This is because these cultures observed frogs laying vast quantities of eggs, making it a fertility/abundance symbol .
In Egypt the frog-headed Heket was an Egyptian goddess of birth(ing).
As a Celtic symbol, the frog was lord over all the earth, and the Celts believed it represented healing powers because of its connection with water and cleansing rains.
Westerners and Europeans focus on the frog's three stages of development (egg, tadpole, fully formed amphibian) to symbolize resurrection and spiritual evolution.
In China the frog is symbolic of Yin energy and thought to be good luck. Feng Shui practices suggest putting an image of a frog in the east window of your home to aide in child birth and/or a happy family life.
Frogs are also good luck symbols in Japan, particularly for travelers. Images or charms were worn during long journeys to assure safety (especially across water). The Japanese word for frog is "kaeru" which is the same word meaning "return." Travelers often carry a small frog amulet to ensure a safe return home.
