This delightfully light multi-colored fleece has a nice crimp and very little vegetable matter. There's black/gray spots over a white body with a little freckling, but not extreme. The brownish tips are from the sun as she was not coated. This one would be nice for dying if you want more of a straight color versus a heathery one. We hand clip each in our flock while they are secured on a shearing stand, thus our fiber is very clean and not ground into a barn floor. It takes us well over an hour, sometimes two to do this, depending on the animal, but the results are well worth the effort. This is Flower's second shearing and she has a nice softness to her fiber. We were able to keep just about everything for someone who is ready to spin, felt, needle felt, or whatever you would enjoy crafting with this lovely fleece. She brought 2 lb. 4.5 ounces of unwashed raw wool to share! Ships only in the USA.
This hoggett fleece from Flower, a Jacob sheep, is stunning, I cannot wait to start spinning it. It is a delight to have such high quality fleece. The yarn will be lovely.
