These handmade paper beads have been upcycled from a vintage (1955) copy of The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes. Perfect for creating your own Sherlock themed jewellery or a cute addition to any craft project.
For ideas of things to make with these beads check out these listings:
The beads are made to order, and so no two will be exactly alike. I'll try where possible to select the most memorable name or phrase to appear at the front of each bead. (Such as Sherlock, Holmes, Watson, Baker Street,) The final text shown, will depend on the words available on each strip of paper. The exact colour of the beads may vary slightly due to the age of the paper.
Technical bits No pieces: 10 Materials: Paper, varnish. length: Approximately 2cm Diameter: Approximately 7mm Water: The beads are varnished to be water resistant (the odd splash of water) but they are not waterproof. Please don't wear in the shower or submerge in water.
About our Sherlock Pages: All of my Sherlock Holmes jewellery is created from a 1955 edition of The Casebook of Sherlock Homes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This copy was damaged beyond repair, and was rescued from the recycle bin. So that it might have a new life, as part of someone else's story.
Items made from these pages may differ slightly in colour, as the book is from 1955, some of the pages have been coloured by age, giving them a lovely warm vintage feel. I do my best best to only use damaged books, so book lovers can wear this jewellery free of guilt and with the knowledge that the words will live on with them.
Gift Wrap: All of my items will come gift wrapped in a handmade, book page pocket (pictured) If your purchase is a gift or for a special occasion, let me know. I can include a personalised message for your recipient, free of charge.
