I wanted to have a custom mala made out of my wedding flowers, and I was having trouble finding a jewelry company that would make one. I was so glad I finally found Amelia and RTD Jewelry. She communicated directly with the person who was going to be making my mala (SimhaGems, also on Etsy) to make sure the beads would work, and they turned out beautifully. She even added a few extra beads just in case. They worked perfectly for a hand-knotted mala and have a very smooth, nice feel to them. I am so happy!

To dry your petals:

--To air dry pluck the petals from the base of the flower and place on a paper towel, being careful not to overlap the petals. Let sit in a dry place out of direct sunlight for several days.

--Microwave drying (is quicker, but also riskier)
Pluck the petals from the base of the flower and place them between two paper towels, being careful not to overlap the petals. Place in microwave and heat for 20 second increments. You will notice the bottom paper towel will be moist so you must replace with a new, dry one. Repeat this step until your petals are crisp to the touch. You may want to let sit overnight in a dry place.

It is possible to overcook, and even burn your petals so be sure to stick with short time increments and check the petals at each stage.

--Another method of air drying is to cut the stems of the flowers, leaving approximately 6 inches. Strip the stem of its leaves them with string. Hang the flowers upside down in a cool, dry area away from sunlight. This process can take 1-3 weeks depending on the type of flower.

Please ensure that you have paid the adequate amount for shipping your petals. All packages that are received and still owe shipping will be sent back to you thus delaying your order progress.

Can the beads get wet?
Yes, the beads are very durable and can get wet without any problems!

How many petals are required for an item?
It really depends on the item but to get an idea, I can usually get around 60-70 beads from one rose. If you are wanting different colors for different items, it will require more petals.

What is the processing time?
The processing time changes depending on my current orders. It is currently 4-6 weeks upon receiving your petals.

Do you do discounts for purchasing multiple items?
No, I do not give discounts for purchasing multiple items; my prices are already calculated to give you the best price I am able.

What are the color choices?
The color of your petals does not determine the color of your beads; they can be any color you wish! Some people like to match the color of their petals, while others like to do a lighter or darker contrasting color. I can match any color in any shade!

Can you customize a piece for me?
Yes, we can work together to create the item you are envisioning!

How do I ship my petals?
Once an order is placed, you will receive detailed shipping instructions.

Can I ship fresh flowers?
Yes, I have shipping instructions for both dry and fresh petals!

Can old dry petals be used?
Yes! I can use dried petals any age.

All beads that touch the skin or are handled regularly, are polished naturally. While this does not produce a high gloss shine, the shine does last forever. This type of polishing will never chip or peel. The more the beads are handled and touched, the more shine they will begin to have.

All beads that are not round, set into a bezel (including rings), or are not handled regularly (ornaments) are polished using a varnish. This does produce a high gloss shine.
