Item details

This is cross stitch pattern of an iconic native New Zealand bird, the Tui. At first glance a Tui bird appears completely black except for a small tuft of white feathers at its neck and a small patch of white on the wing, when looking closer the Tui's feathers have a multicoloured iridescent sheen that varies with the angle from which the light strikes them. Tui's are known for their noisy and unusual call, and were trained by Māori to replicate speech.

The finished design measures 16 cm x 12 cm, when stitched on 14ct Aida. This design uses black floss only on natural coloured Aida.

Your Tui pattern will be available for download as a 2 page PDF.
