Item details

Navajo Churro Raw Wool 8 oz White/Cream Fleece Spinning Fiber. I purchased this beautiful fleece at the 2016 Estes Park Wool Market. This listing is for 8oz/227grams of the fleece. I have included a couple of photos of lock to give you an idea of the length. The Navajo Churro breed of sheep is a dual coated sheep. The locks average 6" to 8" and it is fairly easy to remove the long course locks or you can blend the 2 lengths together.

Navajo Churro fiber is predominately used in tapestries and rugs. The locks can also be used in art yarn projects, dolls hair or as warp yarn for the loom. It also takes dyes well which is why it has been used in woven rugs that you can find in museums today.

This fleece does not have a lot of lanolin in it and is very easy to clean. You should scour it in hot water followed by a hot water rinse, air dry and then decide how you want to prep it for spinning into yarn.
