Item details

This new pattern was explained to me by my Bleuette... seen in these photos, she is Mlle Chantal, made by Barbi Kantor-Goldenberg. I was designing this new ensemble and Chantal piped up that I didn't understand why Rosette should be able to wear styles other than the late fifties... and this is what she told me:

~

One rainy day, in the late fifties, Bleuette and Rosette were bored with "nothing to do". Their dear grand-mere suggested they go play in the attic, as there were several trunks of old childrens clothing up there! She reminded them that she was once assistant to Mme Oo-La-La, the famous childrens modiste of Paris! ...and she learned how to make lovely childrens clothing, in the very height of style. She is also sure there should be some sister outfits packed away, as she made some beautiful clothing for her younger sisters, and it was just too fine to discard, so go look my cherie little ones, and see what you may find!

~

As you can see from the photos, the first of the girls' discoveries in Grandmothers trunks are two fine Gautier Languereau styles, Sophie (the dress) from 1924 and Lonchamp (the fur trimmed coat) from 1927. These are my interpretations of these classic twenties styles. Chantal and Desiree think it great fun playing dress up in old fashioned clothing! The Sophie dress was originally made in a fine cotton, but it will look well in cotton, silk, or lightweight wool. The fur trimmed Lonchamp coat as shown is made in a vintage hand woven tweed, but any nice wool will be attractive.

The pattern is beautifully printed, with a full color cover showing several views. It is contained in a heavy plastic sleeve which you can insert into a binder. This Bleuette clothing was made to fit the Janice Naibert type Bleuette body, (approx 10 and 5\/8" tall with head) but should fit others as well. Please convo if you have any questions. This clothing should also fit (perhaps with minor adjustments) dolls with well proportioned bodies, which measure 10"-11"..

You are buying the pattern only... the dolls and accessories shown in the photos are not included. Doll clothing made by, and the pattern designed and published by Dede Kern
