This is a physical pattern to make an applique quilt block. In this quilt block I chose to highlight the Roseate Spoonbill bird. I find it just as stunning as the pink flamingo, perhaps even more so. They are frequently seen at the Jim Ding Darling wildlife refuge on Sannibel Island. This is one of 9 quilt blocks from the quilt "A Florida Album" by me.
I designed and made the quilt after living in Florida and embracing my strange new surroundings. Quite different than the Midwest that I moved from and now that I'm back in the Midwest, I have the quilt for fond memories.
Anyway, the instructions include the full size appliques and placement diagram along with very good instructions. Instructions for "needle turn" applique and fusible applique are both included.
The quilt block measures 10", but if you want larger quilt blocks you can enlarge them to whatever size you want.
If you wish to purchase all 9 quilt block patterns for the Florida Album quilt along with the border/finishing pattern look for the "set" listing. It is less expensive to purchase the set if you want them all.
