Bronze 1 1/8" (2.9 cm) Toggle Button
As an aspiring artiste, I know how important it is to remain dispassionate and detached when looking at what I’ve created; I have to learn how to edit and cut away those things which don’t measure up. But I have to say, when this one came out of the kiln, my only reaction was ‘Whoa! That’s soooooo cool!”
I had a little lump of bronzclay after an afternoon of making fun new things, and played with it idly...when this shape came up. Two buttonholes, and here was the bronze version of the horn and wood toggle buttons I’d seen my whole life. Designed to be used either through a buttonhole or an attached loop, it’s heavy and smooth, and has a lovely luster. It would be smashing on a knitted sweater coat, or even better as a toggle closure on a felted purse. Be aware, it’s dense and heavy for it’s size, and needs to be on a knitted fabric that can hold it. But in the right place, nothing else will match it. Start thinking now of where you will use it!!
Made of bronzclay, it was formed, kiln fired, polished by hand and tumbler, patinated, then hand polished to bring out the rich texture. It weighs about as much as a nickel and is 1 1/8" long. If you need another size or a set convo me, and we’ll see what we can work out.
Please hand wash, machine wash on your most delicate cycle in a mesh bag (no dryer), or dry clean.

Shipping & policies
I ship worldwide. Generally items are sent USPS First Class or Priority with insurance to the US, Australia, Canada, and European Union. To other countries I ship flat rate Priority Mail International envelope. If you need Express delivery, please convo me and I will do my best to accommodate you; you will receive a Paypal invoice for the additional postage.
I do my best to calculate accurate costs, but it can be hard. Please know that my policy is to adjust downwards the shipping cost when I can. "Additional items" sometimes require their own boxes, or are heavy, which can push costs up. I will do my best to be fair to you.
For some international deliveries I may discuss best shipping practices before shipping, and reserve the right to require insurance and/or a signature in certain cases if I think it safest. Also, please be aware of your country's custom regulations, as in some instances you may be responsible for duty charges. I mark packages accurately as to their contents and value.
I will send to your Etsy account address unless I get a convo at the time of purchase giving me other instructions.
I accept Paypal for payment, and credit cards through the Etsu Checkout system.
Sales within Texas are charged 8.25% sales tax.
Returns & exchanges
I will of course accept returns on in stock items, but please choose carefully and thoughtfully. Since all my pieces are one of a kind - when they are not in the shop they are being missed by other Etsy shoppers. I would appreciate being notified within five days of your intent to return, and receive the item back within two weeks after your receipt of it.
I welcome custom orders! I do quite a bit of custom work, and have found it to be a lot of fun. If you see something that is almost but not quite what you need, contact me. Or if you just think of something you want and looking at my work makes you think I can make it, contact me about that too! Those are usually the best ; )
