>^.^< The Kitten Story =^.^=
I live in a neighborhood overrun with stray cats. They like me because I feed them, they like me so much they have their babies in my attic or garage. So I take them in and try to find new homes for the kittens as well as the mothers. I am selling on Etsy to create revenue to continue rescuing and re-homing these homeless animals. The rescue and fostering of cats and kittens fill my heart with love and determination to do the best I can for them.
2012 RECAP: Homes for over 30 kittens and six mothers spayed.
2013 RECAP: 43 kittens and 5 mothers rescued. 24 kittens adopted (5 kittens too young to adopt still).
2014 RECAP: Only found 6 new kittens this year and found homes for 10. The focus this year is to get as many of the stray cats fixed, and I think we got all of the ones that we feed, 6 females and 12 males. Without any new kittens I missed the pitter patter of little paws, so now I am also a foster mother of five for a great local organization called Second Chance Pets, they can not go to their new homes until their health checks out, they are old enough or weigh enough to be fixed and are micro-chipped.
2015 RECAP: Well I've had sixteen foster kittens this year, 10 of them have found their fur-ever homes and I now have six still waiting. I take them to adoption day every Saturday at the Petco on Bay Area @ Space Center so stop by and visit when you are in the neighborhood.
I have been blessed with customers whose purchases help to fund my animal rescues and fosters. Please have a big heart and buy from me for them.
I have been blessed with customers whose purchases help to fund my animal rescues and fosters. Please have a big heart and buy from me for them.
2016 RECAP: This year I started with 6 foster kittens and Buddy, a cat I had been taking care of.
I was able to foster 7 new foster babies and had 8 fosters adopted and Buddy making 9 by the end of the year.
I also bottle fed 8 kittens, 6 that went to their own foster homes when they were eating on their own and two I got to foster.
So I'm starting with my own two cats Gatsby and Annie and my fosters Cowboy, Possum, Mao and Red Fred. Sadly four is the limit set by the Rescue group I am a part of. I'm hoping Cowboy and Possum will finally get their fur-ever home this year, Mao gets over his feral stage and Red Fred, I'm sure I won't have very long he's just too darn cute and I know he'll be adopted as soon as he's old enough. I take two of them to adoption day every Saturday at the Petco on Bay Area @ Space Center in Houston TX. so stop by and visit when you are in the neighborhood.
Thanks to my customer's having been very generous with their purchases, allowed me to continue fostering and caring for the cats and kittens. So I ask, please consider purchasing from my shop so I/we may continue helping as may of these, Gods creatures as possible.
01/04/2017 UPDATE: The maintenance man of the apartments I live in brought me a pregnant two face calico who is currently in the Maternity Ward aka my second bathroom.
01/11/2017 UPDATE: One of my adopted foster kittens 007, will be staying with me for a few months while his adopted Mom is away from her home. Don't tell anyone but now I'm at 8 cats/kittens with little ones on their way. That's ok I LOVE little kittens!
01/14/2017 UPDATE: Mama-san had four kittens today, one of which just didn't make it, but three did. One calico, One gray with white paws and either another Calico or a tortoise haven't been able to pick them up yet and check them out. So the count as of today is 11 cats and kittens total in my home.
01/18/2017 UPDATE: Second Chance Pets now also has a venue at Petsmart at Clear Lake City Blvd., and El Dorado Blvd. Adoptable pets are there every Sunday between 11 am - 3 pm. There are also "pet condos" where the cats can spend the week to be view by shoppers. Today Possum was asked to fill in one of the Condo slots for a cat that had been adopted. So he will be at this Petsmart until Sunday, January 22, 2017. So if you are in the area, please stop by and give me a visit.
01/22/2017 UPDATE: It's Cowboys turn at the Petsmart on Clear Lake City Blvd, and El Dorado. He will be there until Sunday, January 29, 2017, so stop by and give him a little love.
01/25/2017 UPDATE: Red Fred is at Animal Alliance of Santa Fe, he is getting neutered and will have his first showing at Petco Saturday. There have been a few inquiries about Red Fred already.
01/28/2017 UPDATE: Red Fred was adopted today, and it was his very first showing at adoption day! Cowboy and Possum are both in the Condos this week at Petco on Bay Area Blvd and Space Center Blvd., be sure to stop by and give them a little love.
03/03/2017 UPDATE: I've been "sew" busy I haven't had time to update what's going on with the cats and kittens. Cowboy and Possum are still here waiting for their fur-ever home. Moa is still too feral to go to adoption day and getting bigger every day. 007 is still waiting for his mom to get home. Mama San and babies (all girls) are doing great, babies are growing fast and Mama San always keeps an eye on them.
03/25/2017 UPDATE: Mama San's three baby girls went to Petco today for their first weigh in and deworming. There is Mini-San who is a calico and the spitting image of her Mom, a beautiful gray baby with white boots and chin I call Blue, and a tiny tabby I call Tiger because she is one scaredy cat. While they were having the photos taken a couple inquired about Blue and spent about an hour with her. The couple is considering Blue or another Second Chance Pets kitten for adoption. Blue and her sister Mini will have another weight check next Saturday, but Tiny Tiger is too far away from the three pounds they need to be to be spayed and start showing.
04/02/2017 UPDATE: It's Kitten Season! Please be kind to the homeless Mother cats just trying to take care of her babies.
04/22/2017 UPDATE: Cowboy who has been with me since June 21, 2015, was adopted today, the clincher was his name. A Dallas Cowboys fan adopted him. I will miss my buddha belly buddy who came to me at 4 weeks old weighing only 1/2 a pound. Blue and Min-San will be in the condos this week at Petco, they are ready to be adopted.
04/26/2017 UPDATE: Mama-San has been spade today, she is ready for a new home, but since she doesn't allow anyone to pick her up it will be up to me to find her a new home. She's a very sweet girl who loves to be petted but needs to be in a home where she is the only pet. If you are interested in her, please message me.
04/29/2017 UPDATE: WOW, Blue and Mini-San were adopted today together YEAH. The lady that adopted them saw them cuddling while they were asleep and knew they had to have each other.
04/30/2017 UPDATE: IF all goes well, I should have two new foster kittens by the end of the week. A calico and a Maine Coon. I'm very excited about them. Tiger is getting bigger, starting to eat kitten food and doesn't run from me anymore, so her day will be coming soon to go to Petco.
05/06/2017 UPDATE: I received two new foster kittens today from the Galveston County shelter. A fluffy male tabby Maine Coon, Da Moa (Chinese for big cat) and his sister a calico I've named Me'i Mei (Sister). They are about two months old and very beautiful, once they are old enough it won't take long for them to get adopted.
05/11/2017 UPDATE: One of the maintenance men found a little black female cat with four little babies and brought them to me. I've named the Mother cat Mamma Mia, she has two tuxedoes one of each sex Bootsy and Mr. Nosie and two solid black kittens one of each sex Pearl and Sparrow.
05/16/2017 UPDATE: Mamma Mia and Pearl went to the vets today, they all have very bad diarrhea. They have a parasite causing diarrhea. So they have medication for that, they all got dewormed and Mamma took to combo test for everyone and it came back negative.
05/25/2017 UPDATE: Da Moa, Me'i Mei and Tiger all were fixed today, so they are now available for adoption. So now Mamma Mia and her family will start to be fixed and start to show. The kittens seem to be about 6 weeks old.
05/27/2017 UPDATE: Wow what a great day, Tiger was adopted by a sweet lady who recently lost her cat. Da Moa was adopted by a lovely new to the area lady for her daughter. This lovely lady is now a cat foster for Second Chance Pets as well. She also took home Da Moa sister, Me'i Mei as her first foster, Lucky Da Moa has his sister with him while he gets acclimated to his new Fur-ever home.
06/01/2017 UPDATE: One of my little panthers, Mr. Nosey was fixed today so he is now available for adoption. June is National Adopt a Sheltered Cat Month, so go find yourself a furry best friend this month.
06/08/2017 UPDATE: Mama-Mia and Sparrow were fixed today and they too are available for adoption. The last two Bootsy and Pearl will have their day at the Vets office on June 15, 2017, then my entire little panther family will be able to show on adoption day.
06/09/2017 UPDATE: 007's Mom came home today! He the cat I've been taking care of while his Mom is away, He will be staying with me for a bit longer while she puts her house back in order.
06/10/2017 UPDATE: Sparrow and Mr. Nosey had their first showing today at Petco, they did well for first timers. The Petco we show at is currently under remolding so there is a lot of activity going on there.
06/15/2017 UPDATE: Bootsy and Pearl went to the vet today (Animal Alliance), and were both spayed, so they too are available for adoption as well. It will be next weekend before they will be shown.
Thank you for visiting my shop.
