I love to go on road trips. I love to see new places, I love to study the maps, I love the idea of not knowing what is around the next corner.
I also love to craft while we travel. My husband is a good sport and drives most of the time. I love to kick my shoes off, put my feet up on the dashboard and make...something, anything! It can be crocheting a hat, making hexis, or even unpicking a project that isn’t going so well.
The idea for this bag came out of necessity. I am always losing stuff in the car. My yarn is rolling away, I’m losing a needle, or three. So the idea behind the Crafty Cruiser is convenience. Everything you need for your trip right at your fingertips. This bag uses a separating zipper so it opens wide. But when closed the zipper keeps everything secure. If your bag takes a tumble off the seat your supplies won’t scatter everywhere. This bag also sits up by itself. It has stiff sides so that you can work directly out of the bag, or you can place it on the floor in front if you and still see everything in your bag. This bag features one small outer pocket, three inner open pockets, and a inner zippered pocket. The straps for the bag go all the way around the bag so it can really hold the weight (those skeins of yarn add up!). And as I said, the outer zipper keeps everything secure.
This pattern comes with two size options. The small bag is really convenient for a day trip. It easily holds two skeins of yarn, or some embroidery work, scissors and some hooks or needles. It is also great for carrying any hand piecing projects you are working on. The large bag is for the serious road crafter. It holds 3-4 skeins of yarn, several books, and another small bag with room to spare. This is a great bag for a long trip.
If you are a Crafter that loves to cruise around, whether it be by car, plane, or yacht, you will love this functional, beautiful bag!
