>^.^< The Kitten Story =^.^=
I live in a neighborhood overrun with stray cats. They like me because I feed them, they like me so much they have their babies in my attic or garage. So I take them in and try to find new homes for the kittens as well as the mothers. I am selling on Etsy to create revenue to continue rescuing and re-homing these homeless animals. The rescue and fostering of cats and kittens fill my heart with love and determination to do the best I can for them.
2012 RECAP: Homes for over 30 kittens and six mothers spayed.
2013 RECAP: 43 kittens and 5 mothers rescued. 24 kittens adopted (5 kittens too young to adopt still).
2014 RECAP: Only found 6 new kittens this year and found homes for 10. The focus this year is to get as many of the stray cats fixed, and I think we got all of the ones that we feed, 6 females and 12 males. Without any new kittens I missed the pitter patter of little paws, so now I am also a foster mother of five for a great local organization called Second Chance Pets, they can not go to their new homes until their health checks out, they are old enough or weigh enough to be fixed and are micro-chipped.
2015 RECAP: Well I've had sixteen foster kittens this year, 10 of them have found their fur-ever homes and I now have six still waiting. I take them to adoption day every Saturday at the Petco on Bay Area @ Space Center so stop by and visit when you are in the neighborhood.
I have been blessed with customers whose purchases help to fund my animal rescues and fosters. Please have a big heart and buy from me for them.
01/23/2016 UPDATE: It's been a great week-end, Achilles has been adopted and Gertrude is on a trial adoption (keep your fingers crossed for her). Two down and at least three more to go before I can take in any new foster babies. It doesn't seem fair, there are so many in need and I, and others are limited on how many we can take care of. Maybe it should be based case by case. Too time consuming I know, but darn it there's plenty of kittens and cats that need everyone's help.
01/28/2016 UPDATE: Well Gertrude will be returning, the lady who had her on a “trial adoption” contacted me today, Gerty has just been hiding under the bed from the two dogs that are there and the lady feels it's not fair to Gertrude.
02/06/2016 UPDATE: Salem and 007 are spending the week in the condos at Petco Bay Area Blvd. @ Space Center, so Stop by and visit with them if you are in the neighborhood.
02/20/2016 UPDATE: Salem and 007 are home now, they did not find their fur-ever homes this week but did get use to the activities of the Petco store and should be a bit more settled on adoption days.
02/27/2015 UPDATE: It's Possum and Cowboys turn to spend a week in the condos at Petco, so stop by and visit with them. They are also the “featured pets” this week for Second Chance Pets!
03/04/2016 UPDATE: Well it's kitten season again and I can not take any new babies in until my are adopted, it makes me very sad to think of them being out there needing homes. One of the shelters in Houston has over 100 kittens right now. Please consider adopting or fostering a cat or kitten, help me make their lives better.
03/12/2016 UPDATE: 007 is in the “condos” again at the Petco on Bay Area Blvd., at Space Center Blvd. He's by himself this time, so if you are in the area be sure to stop in and visit with him a bit.
03/31/2016 UPDATE: I let in a neighborhood kitten or small cat this morning. It's a tortie (Tortoiseshell colored cat), most likely a female small, skinny and very hungry. It is good around people but doesn't want to mingle with my other cats/kittens. It's been under my bed most of the day so I haven't been able to take their photo and make a “Found kitty” flier. I hope it belongs to someone who loves it and wants it back.
04/06/2016 UPDATE: Tortie went out the front door, hope she's returning to her home.
04/17/2016 UPDATE: This morning I received 5 Siamese kittens that needed to be bottle feed until a rescue group from Austin could come pick them up next Sunday April 24, 2016.
04/18/2016 UPDATE: This afternoon I met a lovely lady from the Galveston County Animal Shelter who gave me two Calico's to bottle feed. So now I'm at 7 bottle babies WOW, never had this many at one time.
04/24/2016 UPDATE: Well the 5 Siamese bottle feeder babies have been picked up and are on their way to Austin to a new foster mom.
05/07//2016 UPDATE: Buddy found a fur-ever home! There is this beautiful lady Roxanne, who wanted to see Possum and Cowboy in their home environment because she was thinking of adopting them. Well when she got to my home Buddy and Salem were all over her with love, I've never seen Buddy act this way. So since Buddy wasn't one of my foster cats he got to go home with her that night.
05/14/2016 UPDATE: Adoption day at Petco and Roxanne gets to adopt Salem as well, WONDERFUL two in the same house.
06/03/2016 UPDATE: Gertrude is on another trail adoption visit, her third time, lets hope the third time is the charm, or she's puts on the charm.
06/04/2016 UPDATE: When it rains, it rains cats!!! 007 was adopted today by a friend of mine who's watch him grown up, she lost her cat last year and wasn't ready for a new one until now. Cowboy is spending this week in the condos at Petco Bay Area Blvd @ Space Center Blvd. He is alone his brother Possum hid rather than go to adoption day so only Cowboy went. Stop by and give him a little love, he is a really sweet big Buddha belly fella.
06/11/2016 UPDATE: The two calico kittens I had been bottle feeding for a animal shelter in Texas City TX., (Galveston county), are now going to be Second Chance Pets kittens. So I'll get to keep fostering them until they are adopted, which I'm sure won't take very long, these are some beautiful girls.
06/21/2016 UPDATE: My two calico kittens now weigh 3 pounds and can be spayed next week. Which means they will have their first showing at Petco on July 9, 2016 if they are not adopted before then.
07/02/2016 UPDATE: My two calico kittens Missy and Sissy had their first showing at Petco today. Missy was adopted!
07/09/2016 UPDATE: The second of my two calico's Sissy was adopted today from Petco. Cowboy is in the Condo's again and he's upset with me, so if you are in the area stop by and give him some love.
07/10/2016 UPDATE: Received a call last night from one of the rescue groups, a police officers found a kitten and it a bottle feeder. So last night it was with a cat lady and I will be meeting her today to take over. It's an orange tabby, I love those fellas.
07/14/2016 UPDATE: Well the tabby Parker, who I believe is a male. He is a mama's boy who I syringe feed every two hours, I can not get him to eat any wet or dry food yet. He is currently sitting on my chest sleeping which is where he is at most of the time.
07/16/2016 UPDATE: Got a call yesterday from a lady who was concerned about a kitten in her neighbors back yard. The kitten has lived in a cage in the back yard that has several dogs that harass it. She talked to the neighbor who agreed to let the kitten go to a rescue group, so today I received him (I think it's a him), looks to be about a 6 or 8 week old skinny Flame Point kitten.
