This self-striping yarn is dyed to fade out of Violet, into Magenta, then back to Violet. It will produce a similar effect to the sock pictured, although this was a slightly different dye lot. The overall repeat in socks is around 7 to 8 rows.
Using a small skein of grey to knit the heels, toes and cuffs will make a pair of adult socks.
I have used similarly dyed skeins to crochet shawls and they will either stripe or give a beautiful variegated effect, depending on the pattern used. (Point-to point shawls stripe, centre out is variegated).
