When I first started spinning, I bought fibers because the colors drew me, and paid no attention to the fiber type. So, sadly, I am not certain what kind of fiber this is. My best guess is a mohair/wool blend. It has a sheen that is unusual in a plain wool.
The sheen of the fiber makes the different colors pop and shine. It is a heathered yarn, with an amazing array of colors - blues, turquoises, oranges, copper browns and everything in between.
I am a knitter, and I despise knots in my work. So when I spin yarn, I spin large continuous skeins so there will be no knots in them. This is a 256 yard skein or 8.4 ozs. When I measured it, I got 9 wpi which makes it a DK weight yarn.
