I created this cross-stitch pattern in the late 1980s as part of a series of "Paintings in Thread." At the time, I was putting together cross-stitch kits featuring various lighthouses, and I had retailers in three states!
While I am now offering the patterns by themselves, I recommend stitching them on 14 ct. light blue Aida cloth, and using DMC floss.
The Nubble Light pattern works up quickly, and it's easy enough for a new cross-stitcher! When worked on 14 ct. fabric, the finished "painting in thread" will fit in an 8x10 frame.
Have to admit--this is absolutely one of my favorite lighthouses! My parents and I went to Maine almost every summer when I was young, and visiting this lighthouse was always special. The whole place just feels magical to me! In June 2013, I was finally able to go to Maine again (after 31 years!), and while so much in the area has changed, I think this lighthouse is timeless. The Nubble Light pattern was based on one of my sketches.
The cross-stitch pattern will be mailed in a plastic sleeve in a 9x12 manila envelope. I hope you enjoy it!
