It's just crazy, you know? How much fun the ladies had when they were free to create, using the scrips and scraps that they had around. When they even took a little extra time to add a creative stitch or two to pretty it up even more.
The color ways and age of the fabric suggest to me that this was made some time in the 1930's. It's in fantastic condition. Very bright and vibrant.
Piece measures 7" square. Would make a gorgeous pincushion or sachet. Or even an actual patch! I love to "work in cooperation" with a maker from long-ago. It feels like a collaboration and yes, even a meditation to do this.
Heck--I even love the thing turned on its "wrong side." The stitches look like an aerial landscape to me. What a charming textile. How will YOU use it?
