Texture Plate, for Metal Clay / Polymer Clay, "FRAMES LARGE B2" Original Design by Barbara Becker Simon
Frames Large B2
This group of 6 frames/medallions, plus a long, matching patterned strip (6.5” X 5/8”) has so many uses for the clay artist/jeweler that we would be here all day just listing them. Okay, here’s a few: pendants, boxes, box edges, rings, clasps, bracelet or necklace links…. And, if you cut your textured clay apart or “edit” it into smaller elements: earrings, clasps, sides of boxes, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera !!!!!! I can hardly stand it! I know you will find this really, really inspirational! In one photo I have placed a ruler so you can get an idea of the size. In another photo, I rolled some polymer clay into one of the designs. The depth of the texture is about .5mm – just perfect for a texture but not so deep as to use a lot of your material needlessly.
In another photo, you can see a fine silver metal clay pendant with matching clasp that I made using the oval medallion in the lower middle of the texture sheet. The last pic is a box Eye Ring that I made in fine silver metal clay to illustrate using another of the designs---the rectangle in the upper right and the long strip design for the shank (sterling metal clay).
The overall size of this rubber sheet is approximately 7.75” X 5.5”. Each design is surrounded by plain rubber so that your clay can be rolled into the recesses and the design will be isolated so it is easy to cut around.
(NOTE: The “Frames Small B3” texture plate has the same designs but the designs are 75% smaller than this B2 plate. It’s like the Mama (B2) and the Baby (B3) !!! You decide what scale you like to work in---or get them both, so you have options.)
