This is a beautiful black alpaca and red silk roving for spinning that was processed at Zeilinger's mill in Frankenmuth, Michigan. As the black fleece was being prepared, the red silk was added by hand to produce this gorgeous fiber. It's 90% alpaca and 10% handdyed silk. I used Jacquard's color fast dye for the silk.
The two most common alpacas are Suri and Huacaya. This roving is from black Huacayas. Most folks are familiar with Huacaya Alpacas. They have the fuzzy Teddy bear look. The fleece that the Suri grows doesn't have crimp and their "hair" hangs down like locks. It's quite silk like.
Most of my items are shipped in Biodegradable, Recycled, Poly Mailers so that I can ship First class. If the package is over 16 ounces, I will ship Priority. I ship within 48 hours. If you check my Reviews, you will see that I am quite speedy.
Most buyers purchase from my shop using PayPal or Etsy's Direct Check. These are easiest for me. But if you rather send a check or money order, that's fine too. Fiber folks must be conscientious and dependable because I have never had a bad transaction. If you need time to pay or have to cancel a purchase, just let me know. Returns & exchanges
If you aren't happy, let me know. I will do an exchange or give your money back, or whatever it takes to have a happy customer. Buying fiber is hard from a picture. Ideally, you need to feel, caress, and, yes, even smell it.
Please let me know if you have allergies to fragrances because I store my fiber with lavender sachets. I can rewash the yarn before I send it out.
