The Yungai or Cloud Mountain mine is located in Yun County, in the Northeast region of the Hubei Province. Known as the finest turquoise to come out of China, Cloud Mountain Turquoise comes in a variety of webbed matrix patterns and many shades of blue and green. The material is very hard and takes a beautiful polish. In 2005 the Yungai Mine was closed.
Like mines in other parts of the world, including the USA, mines in China produce turquoise of varying quality and in a wide variety of color and matrix variations
