This yarn is a combination of Polwarth wool combined with small amounts of silk and seacell, with a touch of added sparkle provided by the silver plying thread.
While I much prefer to use natural fibres in my spinning, there is sometimes a place for some sparkle, and this is it!
The wool is soft and luxurious, and I have plied it with a fine variegated cotton thread, and a silver thread that picks up the blue tones beautifully. It is quite smooth, and has the slight variations in thickness that makes all handspun yarns unique.
As usual, I won't knot the thread in the middle of the skein, so there are two skeins in total. I can sell them separately if you want only one, but please contact me first for a quote.
Skein 1 length 121 m (132 yds)
Skein 2 length 118 m (129 yds)
Total weight (both skeins together) 120 g (4.25 oz)
WPI between 9 and 10, making this roughly a DK or worsted yarn (8-10 ply).
Care: gentle hand wash in lukewarm water. Rinse and squeeze out excess water. Dry flat in shade. Too much movement will felt the yarn!
