A touch of fantasy for your border or cutting garden! Globe-shaped flower clusters on tall stems look like living lollipops! Fragrant, dark blue blooms add interest to fresh dried arrangements. Produces steel-blue, round flower heads in July-August over attractive spineless grey-green foliage. Echinops is suited to mixed sunny borders, flourishing in moist or dry soils. Globe thistles long lasting blossom provides extended interest and its globe like flowers can be either cut for indoor flowers or left to provide height and interest in the winter months, especially when seed heads are frosted. Sowing : Sow seed in trays of seed compost and germinate at a temperature of 18°-20°C (64°-68°F) Germination should take about 2-3 weeks. Prick out when large enough to handle into 70mm (3") pots and grow on at 10°-16°C (50°-60°F) until planting out time.
