A classic of traditional French scissor making. Often described in the manufacturers catalogues as "heart model", they were extremely popular with young gentlemen who offered them to their betrothed. These embroidery scissors are extremely fine with very pointed blades. The handles and the heart motifs are plated with gold up to the hinge (flat part of the handles where the screw is located), as for the blades, they are chrome-plated. Length: 9cm. Weight: 20g. Presented in a Sajou box. A label on the inside cover explains the manufacturing process. As with all quality scissors, these have traces of pairing: before dipping the steel, the blades are perfectly adjusted a first time to "make a pair". They are marked, generally by a number (here, it is the number 1), as being two parts of a precise pair of scissors. They are then seperated before dipping, which gives them their hardness, reassembled and readjusted. The pairing marks are placed on the scissors hinge so cannot be seen when they are closed.

Beautiful little scissor. Each time I will look at the scissor I will be reminded of delightful Frederique (sorry I was unable to add the accent marks to her name.) Her lovely style of communicating is so charming. So... the scissor is more than a beautiful little scissor. Thank you for the experience and help.
