This is an Edwardian Era feather plume. This arrangement consists of several black bird feathers wrapped together with black tape.
Measures approximately 7" long.
Condition: Good. The ends of the feathers are slightly ragged.
This came from the estate of an 84 year old woman. I bought a box full of Edwardian and Art Deco era millinery supplies and feathers that was found in the attic. The woman's mother and grandmother had at one time made and altered hats, but it is not known whether they were professional milliners. As for the contents of the box: some of pieces were purchased from a manufacturer, some were created by the woman's grandmother and mother, and others were salvaged from hats that they were re-vamping.
Check my shop for some of the other pieces found in that magical box!
