This listing is for the download of a PDF sewing pattern to make a woman's back zipper western stretch show shirt in Misses Sizes 6-24 (see sizing chart). It is NOT for a physical paper pattern. The shirt requires stretchy fabric and has a full back zipper. The peaked collar has a separate collar stand. The shirt can be worn tucked in or outside of the pants. This basic shirt is ready for your embellishments!
The photos are of shirts made by SuitAbility customers using a previous version of this pattern (see below) and are not for sale. All embellishments and modifications were done by the customers and are not included in the pattern. Credits: blue shirt by Jodie Beyl, beige and green shirt by Terri Tripp, and pink print shirt by Show Bee Designs.
The PDF file includes instructions illustrated with diagrams and the shirt pattern pieces. The sizes are nested. Download the file using Adobe Reader and print out the pages using 8 1/2" by 11" or A4 paper.
DO NOT FOLLOW READY-TO-WEAR SIZING! See the measurement charts above to choose a size.
FABRICS- This pattern requires a stretch knit with at least 20% crosswise stretch (4” stretches to 5"). When made from a fabric with the minimum required crosswise stretch of 20%, the shirt will be fairly close-fitting but not skintight. When made from fabrics with more stretch, especially those containing lycra, the fit will be looser. Use fusible interfacing for the collar- stiffer interfacings will give a crisper look. Lighter weight interfacings can be used along the zippered opening.
Fabric yardages are given above.
ZIPPER- Use a 24” lightweight one-way separating zipper- you can use an invisible separating zipper for a cleaner look. Install invisible zippers using the instructions that come with the zipper. We specify a 24” long zipper because this is the longest available for most lightweight separating zippers. This will not come all of the way down to the hem for most of the sizes.
Also needed: 1 YD of 22” wide interfacing, thread.
PLEASE NOTE: This PDF pattern is the same basic shirt as in the SuitAbility paper version Pattern 3409, View B.
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.
