FAQs

I am definitely open to custom-sewing clothing from my reproduction patterns (although fair warning: I sew at a turtle's pace). Just contact me with a little information about what you have in mind, and if we can reach an agreement on the details I will post a private listing for you. Just please keep in mind that hand-made clothing at off-the-rack prices is not a realistic expectation. My price quotes will reflect the work and materials needed to create your desired garment.

Possibly! I have quite a treasure trove of patterns from this time period, and it's a slow process to turn them into the clean, digitized, illustrated final product that I offer here (see next FAQ). If you are looking for something specific, let me know and I'll see what I can find. If I turn a **FILL IN THE BLANK** up, haggling can ensue, and hopefully a mutually acceptable deal can be struck. If you are looking for jodhpur patterns, I have a LOT of jodhpur patterns. Ask me about jodhpur patterns.

These patterns first enter my hands written in archaic sewing gibberish in a language I don't speak, in a script where all of the letters look like entirely different letters printed on rapidly crumbling paper. Every pattern piece overlays every other pattern piece, creating something that looks like a map drawn by a quantum physicist who took enough hallucinogens that she is now trying to show you how to reach Narnia from every major airport. I have to beat sense back into it, digitally. That part doesn't take too long, but then I grade out the pattern pieces from their original size, turn it into a tiled format for print-at-home, sew a test garment for accuracy, photograph it, and illustrate instructions. And I am slow at all of that.
