Czech glass squares in an earthy, red chestnut shade with a "picasso" finish in the etched lines and along the edges.
Picasso finish is a luster coating that appears speckled and spotty giving the bead a natural, earthy appearance. The color can vary from light yellow to dark brown with underlying color variations, similar to a raku pottery finish.
Production of glass beads in the Czech Republic (in an area called Jablonec nad Nisou) dates back to the 14th century. This age-old cottage industry is known for its fine workmanship and many of the beads are still made in small quantities by hand.
Please note that images are taken with a macro lens to give you as much detail as possible, so pay close attention to the bead size description.
For reference, a quarter coin is about 24mm in diameter.
Size: Square glass beads measure 10mm.
