10 Channeled Duckclam Shells June 2016 I just found these shells while camping at Little Talbot Island. This area is in north Florida, on the Atlantic Ocean.
This shell is normally white but elements from the ocean and the beach have stained some of the shells lovely light buff colors. Some of these shells are white but most have beautiful shades of staining. These shells are thin, translucent, and fairly fragile.
These shells range in size from about 1 1/4" wide to 2 3/8". I have included a quarter in 2 of the pictures for you to get an idea of the size.If you have a specific project in mind and need shells that are alike in color or size, or any other parameters please let me know and I will see what I can do for you. If I don't hear from you I will send a variety of sizes and colors.
As a youngster I called these "Sailor's Ears"
Please contact me if you need more or want a different type of sea shell, I might be able to help!
