Item details

Crocuses springing up from the soil inspired this soft marled skein of handspun yarn in deep lavender, purples and greens. Spun up on my Lendrum wheel from a luscious hand-dyed blend of 85% Polwarth wool and 15% tussah silk from Sweet Georgia, then plied with 2 strands of a complimentary dark green shade of luxurious 2/45 cashmere from Loro Piana, this yarn will hold its shape beautifully and drape gracefully.

Weighing 1 7/8 oz and measuring 198 yards, this sportweight handspun self-striping art yarn will naturally range in gauge between 6-7.5 stitches/inch, and the use of a US 5-8 needle or a D-G crochet hook is recommended. This yarn would make a spectacular small project all on its own, shine as lace, or work into a larger project as an accent yarn.

This skein was spun with sacred intention in a tobacco-free home, and it has been set and rinsed with a bit of organic lavender conditioner to keep the fibers supple. It has been stored near cedar. Handwash gently to avoid felting, agitate away to encourage it.

Add a note to your order, and I'll gladly wind your yarns into a center-pull ball.

I ship USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, and I will also happily work with you to create a custom skein.

Thanks again for looking!

FAQs

I would be delighted to work with you to create a custom fiber blend, yarn or consult with you on the fiber arts project of your dreams, just ask!

All yarns have been properly set by immersion in hot water, and should be pre-shrunk and ready to go! Please look at the fiber content to determine if your yarn might felt when agitated, but a great default assumption is that handspun should always be hand washed with care.

Totally possible, but I would need some advance notice! Convo me with any such questions or concerns!
