This listing is for a pair of fabric originally created for a formal uchikake wedding kimono. It is contemporary – probably from the 1980’s – and not considered vintage. The edges are stitched to prevent fraying. The fabric is a heavier weight – suitable for display pieces or embellishments, but too heavy for scarves or blouses.
The pieces shown are remnants from the same original fabric but the patterning is slightly different on each piece.
Deadstock wedding kimono remnants are fairly rare to find – everything we have is listed and we are not likely to get more.
