Vintage garments are one of a kind as far as sizing. Please know that vintage sizes are not comparable to contemporary sizing and vintage women's garments were usually worn with foundation garments that nipped-in the waist and/or shaped the bust into a point. I provide measurements for all garments that are taken while the garment is laid flat.
Before you buy, it is best if you:
1.Take an accurate set of measurements of yourself. Do not pull the tape measure tight. Your vintage purchase should have AT LEAST 1'-2" of ease at the bust, waist and hips to fit properly.
2. Measure a similar well-fitting garment you own and compare its measurements with those of the vintage item you'd like to purchase. Remember: most garments can be taken in by a tailor (or yourself!), but only the rare item can be LET OUT. Please ask me before purchase if there is the potential to alter the garment. I am an experienced seamstress and will give you an educated and honest opinion. Heck, I may even throw in a few extra buttons!
