Deep Rich Dark Blue Roman Glass Excavated Ancient Nila Beads, Djenne, Mali.
Circa 1200-1600 AD.
These wonderful beads are great for design of all sorts of necklaces and bracelets. They wear beautifully and feel luxuriously soft with their natural absorption of the body's oils. Really a favorite bead in the collection for so many reasons.
The colors of these beads come out when treated gently with a tiny bit of olive oil (rub a little on your hands and then handle the beads)
Now offering 3 sizes of these strands.
Strand varieties include beads measuring approximately 2-3mm (smaller), 3-4mm (medium) and 4-7mm diameter (larger). Approximately 22" of beads per strand.
The “medium” strands are mixed with smaller beads and are relatively medium as compared to the other sizes, but are actually the same size as the “small” gray and other color small nilas in the shop. The small beads are very small, more like seed beads.
