This is a bakelite and wood button and buckle from the 1930's.
It is in the design of a cog, and I love the way the pieces overlap to make it look interconnected. It is a butterscotch bakelite and real wood, but I don't know what kind. Something with a nice grain
It measures 3.5 inches closed. The full round is two inches. It has standard vintage wear. The matching button is one inch. This is a great set to finish off an amazing outfit, turn into jewelry, or add to a collection.
Of all the things I collect, first and foremost I collect buttons. It has gone on for thirty years and now it is time to divest. I bought my first buttons from a 90 year old who had collected all of her life, and was still having trouble parting with them, so I figure I better start earlier in life. By the time I'm 90 it may be easier.
What goes around, comes around. Love of beauty and quality from the past is happiness.
