Our Pumice base is a light and super soft yet strong fingering weight yarn with 400 yards of superwash merino wool in every 100g skein. When dyed, this wool has such depth it just draws you in.
The Seawall on Digby Neck is a silent sentinel for mariners plying the waters of St. Mary's Bay and creates a spectacular colour palette that changes with the position of the sun. In the early morning, it is dark and mysterious but in the afternoon, it is defiantly red showing all its details.
Pumice is a very light and porous volcanic rock formed when a gas-rich froth of glassy lava solidifies rapidly.
All our yarn is dyed with professional dyes in a smoke free home studio.
We try to take pictures of our yarn that accurately reflect the colours but monitors may vary in how they display them.
Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn no skeins are identical. If you are wanting to make a larger project please send us a message and we will create a listing just for you and dye the quantity you need. All custom orders have a lead time of 4 weeks as they are dyed to order.
Also, due to the nature of hand dyed yarn there may be some bleeding during the first wash so we do recommend you had wash all handknits in cool water and separately from other items.
Exited to use this in a Lake Superior Agate inspired swing knitting shawl.
