This yarn is from our the fleece of our sweet black Suri male, Bo Jangles. It is silky soft and lustrous. It would make a fabulous sweater! Each of Bo's skeins weigh approximately 3 ounces. There is about 250 yards/skein. This yarn contains 30% black merino provided by Stonehedge Fiber Mill. This yarn may contain a minute amount of vm and was hand skirted at our farm. The process of hand skirting means I personally laid hands on my fleece and diligently tried to remove as much foreign matter as possible.
Suri alpaca fiber feels as soft as cashmere, is warmer than wool, and has the luster of silk. It contains no lanolin. It has an elegant drape, blends well with other fibers, comes in a variety of natural colors, and is versatile and strong. It also dyes beautifully.
This yarn was spun by Stonehedge Fiber Mill, a pure Michigan business, located in East Jordan. The fiber was nurtured by us at Zephyr Hill Farm located in the heart of the aforementioned mitten state.
