This yarn is the marriage of two of my white suri's fleeces, Rafael and Twizzler, half brother and sister. I combined their two fleeces to create a lustrous, silky soft yarn. Each skein weighs in at about 3 1/4 ounces and is 250 yards. This yarn would be beautiful combined with another color or can be dyed.
Rafael's fiber won 1st place in the 2016 Suri Networks All Fleece Show Spin Off. Twizzler's fleece won 2nd place last year in the Suri Networks All Fleece Show and 2nd place in this year's Spin Off, right behind Raphael's.
This yarn may contain a minute amount of vegetable matter (vm) and was hand skirted at our farm. The process of hand skirting means I personally laid hands on my fleece and diligently tried to remove as much foreign matter as possible.
The yarn was spun by Stonehedge Fiber Mill, a pure Michigan business, located in East Jordan. The fiber was a product of the nuturing that takes place at our farm, Zephyr Hill Farm, located in the heart of Michigan, the mitten state.
Suri yarn is as soft as cashmere, warmer than wool and has the luster of silk. It has an elegant drape, blends well with other fibers, is versatile and provides warmth and substance. It contains no lanolin and comes in several natural colors and dyes beautifully.
