Natural untreated stone. Teepee Canyon Jasper is found only in South Dakota and less than 30% of the stones mined on site contain sufficient agate variation to be considered gem quality.
This is a one of kind stone with a beautiful landscape scene including a lovely small drusy window in the lower right hand corner. Both the front and back have been polished to a glass like finish.
I hand cut all my cabochons utilizing traditional methods. The top is domed with a flat polished bottom. There is an angled girdle (making it easier to set in both bezel and cold settings) and the bottom edge is lightly bezeled (making the stone less likely to chip or break if used in a bezel setting). The backs to my stones are also finished and polished allowing you to display either the back or front of the stone. My cutting style is a thick cut, high shine (to the degree the material allows).
