Winter is Coming folks! Time to knit that hat and stay warm and cozy for the duration. This hat is quick to knit and great for knitters just learning colorwork and/or knitting in the round.

This listing is for the PATTERN and NOT a knit hat. The finished product is available in our shop at www.knittyvet.etsy.com !

Knitter level: Advanced Beginner – Work from a knitting graph, knit in the round.

One Size Fits All – approximately 10” tall and quite stretchy.

This pattern is available as digital download immediately after purchase. If this does not seem to work please send me a convo - I can send the pattern by email.

IMPORTANT NOTE: By buying this pattern you agree that the pattern is for personal use and neither the pattern nor the finished product may be resold or copied. Make it for you, your friends, co-workers, lovers... but no selling.

Great, that part is over with! Have fun making your new hat!

FAQs

Most of my items are knit from high quality wool, alpaca, cotton, or wool blends. I recommend hand washing in cool water and air drying unless otherwise specified with the item.

The colors in our skeins of Garden Yarn are a permanent part of the protein structure of the wool – so no washing out! We do recommend washing in cool water with a gentle, pH neutral soap (we like Eucalan or Unicorn Fiber Rinse!). After the first wash you may see a little color in the rinse water, but rest assured that it will not significantly affect the color of the yarn. Just like any fabric or yarn, colors may fade slightly over time, more if frequently exposed to bright sunlight. We recommend storing your creations in a dark, temperature-controlled place when not wearing or using.

Hopefully yes! This depends on feedback I receive from you, so if you would like to see other weights or styles of yarn get the Garden Yarn treatment, send me a convo and let me know!

All of our dye plants are either organically grown in my own garden or locally sourced from the surrounding 5 miles or so. All dyes materials are harvested sustainably.

We use time-honored processes to provide the best color to your yarn. These include the use of alum in small amounts, an aluminum based mordant (allowing the color to bind with the yarn protein). Alum is a non-toxic additive that can be found in many places (including the grocery spice aisle as a crunch enhancer for pickles!), but if you have a sensitivity to aluminum you may wish to select a color that does not use an alum base (please contact Kendra@knitty.vet for more information).
