80% alpaca 20% cormo DK weight 200 yds 2.6 oz 5 st / inch on a US #6 - or larger needle
This is one of my favorite yarns that I've produced in my 15 years of raising my own alpacas. We have a lot of white animals and I use only the best and lowest micron fiber in this batch of yarn. The cormo blended with it was also from a local farm and makes this yarn extremely lofty. It was spun to a dk weight, but because of the loft it could easily be bumped up to a light worsted.
But the best part of this yarn is the complex colors that have been dyed on it. Dyed in batches of 8, it typically is good for most people for a sweater quantity. Each batch is dyed together, but because of the process, there could be variations between skeins. For a larger project, we recommend that you work from 2 skeins at a time, alternating every row or every other row to blend the colors together. Pictures just don't do it justice.
