Have some fun making this light-hearted pink flamingo cuff bracelet. It’s hard to be too serious around this fellow. Using size 8-0 beads, this comfortable cuff bracelet works up quickly so it can be worn the same (or next) day or makes a great last minute gift. We all have that special friend who loves pink flamingos…….
The inspiration for this pattern was just that; a friend who loves these guys. The only embellishment I added is a 5 bead edging, but none is needed. It is finished with a simple magnet clasp. Several pictures of the finished bracelet are shown below. As created it is 6.2 inches long and 0.90 inches wide without clasp or embellishment. It can easily be lengthened by adding a row or two or using a different clasp.
Included in this 7-page PDF is a realistic pattern picture, a list of the beads used and how many of each are needed, a bead graph, and written row-by-row instructions for peyote. On the last page are larger copies of the pattern picture that you can print and use as your go-by if, like me, you hate following written instructions. Please note that this is not a tutorial and assumes basic knowledge of peyote stitch. There are many sites on the internet you can check for a refresher if needed (check your favorite bead supply store website or do a simple internet search).
I’ve included the number/name of the beads used when designing the piece (8/0 Miyuki Round Rocailles), but use whatever colors and make of beads you would like. The only caveat is that different manufacturers of beads produce slightly different sizes (within each size category) so the finished piece may be larger/smaller than the measurements given, requiring a little adaptation. Also, some manufacturers produce beads with varying sizes/quality requiring significant initial culling. Just use beads that are approximately the same size when making these cuffs.
Feel free to sell what you create from my patterns but please do not sell the pattern or make copies for others. If you sell the pieces, I would appreciate if you would note the design source with a link. I’d also love to see a picture of your finished piece!
